The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at the University of Karachi is pleased to announce job openings for the following positions, available on a contract basis:
A. IT MANAGER
(01 Position)
Location: PCMD
Qualifications:
- MS/ME/BS/BE in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications: MCSE/MCSA along with CCNA/CCNP.
- Expertise in Voice and Data, particularly in handling security appliances like firewalls and UTM's.
Experience:
- 3-4 years of experience for MS/ME candidates, or 5-6 years for BS/BE candidates, in leading multinational or national organizations.
- Proficiency in ICT management, computer networks, system administration, LAN/WAN technologies, Microsoft servers, Cisco BM, CUCM, and other Cisco networks.
- Strong experience in server management, including RAID configuration, VM's, resource allocation, and storage management (SAN/NAS) with RAID controller cards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a capacity to establish robust security policies.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management and configuration of networks, including Cisco-based environments.
- Implement failover and disaster recovery procedures and ensure ICT compliance.
- Apply updates and fixes to network devices and servers, configure and oversee security firewalls, and establish email gateway systems.
- Manage and maintain institutional web portals and centralized wireless access controllers with AP management.
- Ensure regular data backups and configure disaster recovery mechanisms with failover capabilities.
- Configure, deploy, and manage ICT services related to network, security, and systems.
B. ELECTRONICS ENGINEER
(02 Positions)
Location: On Contract
Qualifications:
- B.E./B.S. degree in Electronics from an HEC recognized institution.
- A strong academic record, with a first-class standing.
Experience:
- Maximum age: 32 years.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in servicing and maintaining analytical instruments used in chemical/biochemical labs, as well as working with power supplies, thyristor controls, RF amplifiers/receivers, and digital electronics.
C. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
(01 Position)
Location: On Contract
Qualifications:
- B.E./B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an HEC recognized institution with a first-class academic record.
Experience:
- Maximum age: 32 years.
- At least 5 years of experience in the maintenance of generators, UPS, electrical motors, and elevators.
- Ability to perform hands-on work without assistance.
D. MECHANICAL ENGINEER
(01 Position)
Location: On Contract
Qualifications:
- B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an HEC recognized university and registered with PEC.
Experience:
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, as well as managing plants and workshops.
- Expertise in handling BMS systems is a plus.
E. INSTRUMENT OPERATOR AND TECHNICIAN
(02 Positions)
Location: On Contract
Qualifications:
- M.Phil./M.S. in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or Applied Physics from an HEC recognized institution.
Experience:
- Hands-on experience in operating advanced analytical instruments.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain various analytical instruments, including Optical Tensiometer, GPS/SEC, Electrochemical Workstation, Electrospinning Machine, DSC/TGA, BET Surface Analyzer, and SEM.
F. ACCOUNTANT
(02 Positions)
Location: On Contract
Qualifications:
- A Commerce graduate with completed articleship or M.Com./MBA (Finance) with 16 years of education from an HEC recognized institution.
Experience:
- 10-12 years of experience in accounts and finance, with expertise in managing payroll, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
- Knowledge of taxation, including filing quarterly and annual returns and sales tax.
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel and ERP Software.
